- Candidates up 34 per cent
- Placements up from Feb
- But new jobs dip
Busy month for travel candidates
The number of new candidates looking for jobs in the travel industry has jumped to its highest level in 14 months, according to the latest figures from C&M Travel Recruitment.
March's total was up by 19 per cent from February and up by 34 per cent from last March to reach the biggest total since January 2025.
It was a more mixed month for placements, with March's figure rising by 22 per cent from the previous month, but standing 41 per cent below last March.
Finally, there was a dip in the number of new travel jobs being made available last month, with the figure falling by 29 per cent from February and by 24 per cent from March 2025.
Speaking about the stats, Barbara Kolosinska, Co-Owner and Managing Director at C&M Travel Recruitment, said: "March was an especially busy month for new travel job seekers with candidates jumping by more than a third compared to the same time last year. However, it was a month of contrasting fortunes – with candidates well up, placements rising compared to February but down from last year, while new jobs fell back.
"With the current global political situation, it should perhaps be no surprise to see a reduction in recruitment activity, but it's far too early to say whether this is a brief blip or the first signs of something more pronounced. We will of course be following it closely. But in the meantime, the increase in active candidates means that those companies currently recruiting have the choice of some fantastic travel talent right now."
