Tomorrow's Travel Leaders: 30 Under 30: Kyle Gomersall
In collaboration with TTG Digital, the ITT and Guoman Hotels, C&M Travel Recruitment set out to discover the 30 most inspiring and dynamic people in the travel industry aged 30 years and younger - the 30 Under 30.
Here we profile Kyle Gomersall, customer service manager at Thomas Cook.
Q: What advice do you have for other young people looking to find travel jobs and make their mark in the industry?
A: "Work hard and do the best you can. Focus on the customer service [side] and make customers' holidays perfect and the rewards will come with the great job you do."
Q: What made you want to get involved in the travel industry in the first place?
A: "I have always enjoyed travelling around the world and was very privileged growing up to experience some fantastic places. I have excellent people and sales skills and combining all of these together has put me where I am today."
Q: How does it feel to be in the final 30 of the Tomorrow's Travel Leaders scheme?
A: "It feels great to be acknowledged as one of Tomorrow's Travel Leaders, and even better to be in the Final 30."
Q: Were you surprised to be nominated for a spot in the final 30?
A: "Yes, very surprised. I knew that my work was always recognised and appreciated, but never to the extent that I thought I would get nominated for something as big as Tomorrow's Travel Leaders."
Q: Has the recognition from the Tomorrow's Travel Leaders initiative started to have any impact on your job or career?
A: "Yes, I have had a lot of recognition from it within the travel industry and since I got nominated I have moved from a sales consultant to a customer service manager in a larger store."
