In collaboration with TTG Digital, the ITT and Guoman Hotels, C&M Travel Recruitment set out to discover the 30 most inspiring and dynamic people in the travel industry aged 30 years and younger - the 30 Under 30.
Here we profile Danielle Hodges, sales, administration and marketing manager at Ski Amis.
Q: How does it feel to be in the final 30 of Tomorrow's Travel Leaders?
A: "It's great to have the recognition and it really is an honour to be part of Tomorrow's Travel Leaders. My only regret about it is that I was unable to join the dinners, and get to know the other 29 as they fell into the busiest time of year for us, so I was unable to get out of the office with enough time to travel to London to join them.
"My team have all studied travel and tourism at college, and this has really motivated them and allowed them to see that the opportunities within the travel industry are limitless and that they really can make a career out of it."
Q: Were you surprised to be nominated?
A: "Yes, I was completely surprised. It was not what I was expecting at all - in fact, I didn't even know of its existence or what it was!"
Q: Has the recognition had any impact on your career?
A: "So far it hasn't, but I think it definitely will in the future as it looks fantastic on my CV, and reinforces my achievements."
Q: Why did you want to get involved in the travel industry?
A: "My reason for wanting to get involved in the travel industry stems from my passion for skiing and winter sports - I work for a ski holiday company, and I began learning to ski from the age of three, so it has always been something that has been attractive to me.
"I completed a ski season in 2009-2010, and this reinforced to me how important it is to turn your passions into work and so I decided to work within the ski industry. I love working within this niche as everybody around you shares the same passion - including my clients."
Q: What advice do you have for other young people looking to make their mark in the travel industry?
A: "Use your initiative, think outside the box and don't give up when times get hard!"
