Winter caravan holidays are 'a popular choice'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Going on a caravan holiday while out of season is a popular holiday choice for domestic tourists.
Such is the assertion of the Caravan Club, where a spokesperson for the firm states that although the colder months are drawing in, there are still a number of caravan sites throughout the country which stay open all year around.
Furthermore, it was claimed that - instead of going on a foreign vacation this winter - the current financial climate could result in a rise of those Britons wishing to go on a caravan break.
She said: "If you think about it, when you have a package holiday it's over and done with. If you were to spend that money on a second-hand caravan you can have a holiday every Friday evening."
The comments made by the representative might be of interest to travel agents and domestic tour operators.
In August, the Caravan Club asserted the popularity of caravanning holidays as it pointed to research by the National Caravan Council showing that pitch bookings for this kind of vacation were up by ten per from the same time in 2007.
