Travellers 'looking for best deals'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.In news which might be of interest to those working in the travel industry, it has been asserted that UK travellers are choosing to visit countries where they can get the most for their money.
Julian Neal, global marketing director for Travelex retail, commented that many Brits are travelling to destinations where the current exchange rates mean they get a better deal.
He noted: "Something specifically we can see is that customers are now twice as likely to travel to America as before. That is clearly a direct result of them getting a much better exchange rate."
Furthermore, Mr Neal stated that there has been an increase in the amount of currencies being exchanged which are particularly favourable to the pound at the moment - like the Turkish Lira and South African Rand.
Meanwhile, research carried out by Travelex.co.uk has found in a recent survey that 42 per cent of Brits would be more likely to travel to the US to take advantage of the current favourable exchange rate.
