Partners 'preferred as holiday companions'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Britons prefer going on holiday with their loved ones as opposed to their friends, it has been reported.
In research carried out by Visitbirmingham.com, it was revealed that some 75 per cent of people would rather go on a romantic break for two than an all-male or all-female vacation.
The study also revealed that couples are keen culture vultures when on holiday, with three-quarters of respondents stating that they attempt to visit at least one local attraction while abroad.
Meanwhile, half of those surveyed simply like to stroll around cities taking in the sights, with just over a third (38 per cent) claiming to enjoy sampling some fine cuisine.
Such news might be of interest to those working in the travel industry.
Last month, Alyson Cook, editor for Luxury Travel magazine, reported that Mexico is increasingly being viewed as a "romantic destination" for luxury British tourists.
Ms Cook also pointed out that Los Cabos and Baja California not only provide a chance to take part in some adventure activities, but can also offer a dash of celebrity-spotting with such areas said to be popular among Hollywood A-listers.
