Midi-Pyrenees 'offers many attractions'
For more permanent travel consultant jobs in the travel industry, visit our latest jobs page.Brits planning a trip to France have been advised the Midi-Pyrenees region offers a range of attractions and is one of the most popular areas of the country with visitors.
Solenne Odon, marketing, communication and press for Great Britain and Ireland at the Midi-Pyrenees Regional Tourism Committee, said the beautiful landscape is conducive to a range of outdoor activities, including visiting the area's theme parks or exploring the many caves and mountains.
"We have a lot of history and the dialect, something really specific. Food and gastronomy is also available, we're one of the most famous regions for gastronomy," she commented.
According to figures from Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, 449,698 passengers travelled through the airport during the first month of 2010, an increase of 1.7 per cent compared to January 2009.
In addition, it revealed domestic traffic to the region remained stable (down 0.2 per cent), while international traffic experienced strong growth (up 6.2 per cent).
