Leeds-Bradford announces Pakistan flights
Leeds Bradford International Airport is to begin receiving flights from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).Commencing on July 2nd 2008, PIA will operate a twice-weekly route between Leeds-Bradford and Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
Commercial and aviation development director at the airport Tony Hallwood noted that the addition of PIA to the operators currently working out of the airport cemented its position as Yorkshire's premier international gateway.
Farooq Ibrahim, UK general manager for PIA, said: "The new route offered by PIA will further provide travel opportunities to tourists as well as citizens of Pakistan and the United Kingdom."
In other news, Leeds Bradford International Airport has achieved sustainability accreditation following a recent audit.
Mr Hallwood said he was delighted with the award and noted that it went a long way towards demonstrating the environmental commitment of the airport in the reduction of emissions.
