Farmstay accommodation 'becoming more popular'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.An increasing number of tourists are looking to experience life on a farm during a domestic vacation, new research shows.
In figures released by ethical holiday firm responsibletravel.com it was revealed that there has been a 106 per cent increase in enquiries for farmstay accommodation during the last 12 months, TravelMole reports.
This, it was reported, highlights the rising popularity of 'agro tourism' among British farmers.
Such news might be of interest to those people who have jobs in the travel industry.
Justin Francis, co-founder of responsibletravel.com, said: "Across all industries, whether it be food or tourism, consumers want to have a more local and authentic experience."
He went on to report that this type of vacation offers "a great chance to really experience life on a farm".
Mr Francis added that agro tourism is also popular in many countries in continental Europe.
In other news VisitBritain spokesperson Elliot Frisby claimed that the north of England is an attractive destination for romantic couples.
