Croatia 'is popular tourism destination'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Croatia is a cost-effective holiday destination for Britons, it has been reported.
A spokesperson for Charisma PR - which represents the European country's tourist board, stated that the fact Croatia is not in the euro zone means it is more affordable for Britons than those nations which are part of the continental currency.
The representative claimed that: "It is a popular place to go and visitor numbers are growing year-on-year."
And in news that might be of interest to travel agents, the Charisma PR spokesperson pointed out the country has clean beaches and water as well as a "very beautiful" countryside.
Furthermore, the good transport links from a number of major British airports - including Gatwick, Stansted and Heathrow - were cited as an attractive factor for taking breaks to Croatia.
Comments from the Charisma PR spokesperson come after statistics from tourism officials revealed some 558,493 international tourists visited Croatia during the first three months of this year, a rise of 14 per cent from the same time in 2007.
