Benefits of ferry travel highlighted
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs. The benefits of travelling via ferry over flying have been highlighted by an industry professional.
In news that might be of interest to individuals looking for travel vacancies, the director of the Passenger Shipping Association William Gibbons has commented that ferry travel allows passengers to travel from door to door.
By using their own cars for part of the journey he noted that travellers do not have the hassle of airport security, which makes for a far better time.
"When you are on the ferry you can eat drink shop, relax, sleep if it is an overnight crossing," Mr Gibbons added.
He concluded: "We think that all together the experience of travelling by ferry is far more pleasant than flying."
Meanwhile, a survey of passengers travelling from the port of Dover in August were asked to compare their ferry crossings with recent experiences of air travel.
The results showed that nine out of ten people felt luggage handling was much easier by ferry and seven out of ten said costs were cheaper.
