Adventure holidays 'to be popular in 2010'
For more permanent travel consultant jobs in the travel industry, visit our latest jobs page.While 2009 may have been the year of the staycation, 2010 is all set to be 12 months of adventure for thrill-seeking Brits, it has been claimed.
John Warner, managing director of Gap Adventures, said many people are now keen to take two-week adventure holidays in order to really explore an destination and get the moist out of their time away.
He commented: "You can cram a lot into two weeks and can be sure to have an action packed time, as well as a life-changing adventure."
According to intotheblue.co.uk, 61 per cent of people surveyed by the company are planning on travelling around the world, or more specifically to areas such as Australia, Europe and South America, within the next decade.
In addition, 53 per cent of people want to jump out of a plane, while 17 per cent of people would like to travel to space now that Virgin Galactic is offering commercial space travel - despite the £200,000 price tag.
