Luxury travel agents 'must offer personalised service'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Travel agents operating within the luxury sector must work hard if they are to attract holidaymakers, it has been reported.
According to Alyson Cook, editor of Luxury Travel Magazine, the rising popularity of going online to book a break means that travel agents "have to offer something over and above what people can now get on the internet".
She went on to report that as the majority of Britons are "overloaded with various products" agents and tour operators must look to provide new products and experiences which will be of interest to them.
Ms Cook claimed that luxury travellers are increasingly looking for specialist events and cultural experiences which will see them interact with indigenous peoples.
As such, the Luxury Travel Magazine editor claimed travel agents will have to offer an individualized service and provide holidays which match their aspirations and expectations.
Her comments come after findings from the International Luxury Travel Market showed that countries including China, Russia and India are becoming developing destinations for luxury tourists.
