Industry 'failing singles'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs. The travel sector has been accused of failing to cater for the needs of lone holidaymakers, an area which could be developed and expanded to create further travel and tourism jobs.
According to the online resource TravelMole, research by digital customer experience firm Foviance has revealed that singles aged between 31 and 45-years-old are unable to locate a vacation that suits their needs.
However, 68 per cent of respondents claimed that if they found a relevant break they would wish to take advantage of it.
It was found that the majority of the demographic preferred fun holidays that were removed from younger revellers, but still had a sophisticated nightlife where enforced romantic pressures were not on the menu.
But a holiday that did not revolve around nightclubbing and getting drunk did not seem to exist, the study noted.
Foviance consultancy director Marty Carroll said: "Organisations' lack of understanding means that the majority focus on selling products and services rather than concentrating on delivering customer experiences."
Meanwhile, the Association of British Travel Agents has revealed that it is disappointed that the government is set to continue with Air Passenger Duty.
