Hoseasons records travel agent booking rise
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Those working as travel agents are selling an increasing number of last-minute breaks, it has been reported.
In research released by Hoseasons it was revealed that sales for its UK holidays via agents have been up by 45 per cent during the past seven days, in comparison to the same period of time in 2007.
Pali Badwal, business development director for Hoseasons, said: "It's a tough market for overseas breaks at the moment but agents have responded to the change in customer demand and are really pushing UK holidays."
At present he claimed that domestic breaks are currently at "the forefront of the customer's mind", although it was suggested that nobody is certain how long concerns about the credit crunch, currency exchange rates and the overall economy will last for.
Earlier this week, it was revealed that the past six weeks have seen Butlins record a 15 per cent increase in those staying at its three resorts.
