Eurozone breaks 'falling in price'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs. While many Britons may have been putting off booking a holiday in the eurozone in recent months due to the unfavourable exchange rate and tightening budgets, those working in the travel industry may be interested to know that the continent is getting cheaper.
This is according to a recent poll by Post Office Travel Services, which revealed that Spain and Portugal are now as affordable as ever.
Furthermore, looking to worldwide holiday costs, Bulgaria is now the cheapest destination, overtaking South Africa, Egypt and Thailand in the value stakes.
When it comes to purchasing a package of goods abroad, including a meal for two, drinks, sun lotion and other holiday products, Portugal's prices had dropped to £67.47, while in Spain it was £67.08, the research revealed.
This put Portugal's Algarve back into the top ten cheapest global destinations for the first time in two years.
Meanwhile, Mike Whiting, managing editor at Holiday Extras, recently claimed that European destinations such as Spain were still popular with Britons.
