Brits 'still want a two-week holiday'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.The traditional two-week vacation is still being sought out by holidaymakers.
Such is the assertion of Isango! which revealed that a quarter of Britons prefer to go on a fortnightly holiday, a length of break which is more popular than that of a long weekend and a ten-day trip.
Meanwhile, just two per cent state they are interested in going away for at least three months.
Research from the firm also showed 41 per cent of respondents view a break in Britain or western Europe as the perfect destinations for a vacation.
And in news that could be of interest to those with travel jobs, it was reported that activity holidays are becoming increasingly popular.
Ranjan Singh, chief executive of Isango!, said: "Our research shows that for many people, if you want the perfect holiday, it's not enough just to flop on the beach."
Meanwhile, more than one out of ten (11 per cent) Britons stated that there were a lack of activities while they were away.
A recent study by the Co-operative Travel showed that Turkey is the most sought-after holiday destination for UK tourists.
