Agents selling US holidays 'set to benefit'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Visit USA has announced its intentions of increasing booking via those with travel agents jobs, it has emerged.
The new initiative will offer a new travel agent partner facility on its website - visitusa.org.uk - in time for the peak period of sales which takes place in January, Travel Weekly reports.
Alan Waddell, chief operating officer of Visit USA, said: "Any travel agent interested in the US market will be able to benefit.
"It is a no-brainer: agents have got everything to gain and there's no cost involved."
Under the scheme, those which sign up will be listed on a public directory, which customers will be able to use to find their nearest travel agent.
In addition, visitors to the site will be able to search by agents depending on how much knowledge of the United States they possess.
Figures released by last month by NYC & Company showed that 46 million foreign tourists visited New York last year, a rise of some 3.3 per cent from 2006.
