North-east 'an attractive place to visit'
For more permanent travel consultant jobs in the travel industry, visit our latest jobs page.Brits planning a domestic break might like to talk to their travel consultant about visiting the north-east of England.
Sheelagh Caygill, a spokesperson for Visit Northumberland, said that there are many attractions available in the region that will appeal to people of all ages and this could be particularly good for families as the half-term break is fast approaching.
"I'd say the top visitor attractions are Bamburgh Castle, Holy Island, Cragside, Alnwick Garden and Castle and Hadrian's Wall. I would say they are the ones that people are most aware of or most identify with outside the county," she commented.
According to research by travelsupermarket.com, a third of Brits are likely to take one holiday in 2010, while 21 per cent are likely to take three or more.
In addition, the study noted 16 per cent of Brits say their main summer holiday will be in the UK this year.
