New technology to be introduced for business travellers
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.New biometric technology is to be introduced at a number of British airports, it has been revealed.
The moves will see iris, fingerprint and facial-recognition technology be brought in to help improve journey times and speed up passing through immigration control for frequent fliers between UK and the United States.
Particularly aimed at those who often travel for work-related purposes, such news might be of interest to those with business travel jobs.
In a statement, borders and immigration minister Liam Byrne said: "Speedy travel between the UK and the US is crucial to large financial organisations."
At present iris-enrolment gates and stations are available at Birmingham, Manchester, Gatwick and Heathrow airports.
In other business travel news, it was recently revealed that the Guild of Travel Management Companies and Institute of Travel Management are to work together to investigate new ways of working within the industry.
