Business travel predictions made
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.A business travel expert has made a number of predictions about the future of the sector, it has been revealed.
Martin Cowley, head of Sabre Travel Network EMEA, claimed that upon the stabilising of fuel prices "ticket prices will return to sustainable levels", Business Travel World reports.
It was also claimed that trains are set to play an increasingly large role within the business travel sector following the deregulation of rail transport set to take place in 2010.
He said: "Rail travel will continue to grow and challenge air routes with the number of passengers on high-speed rail services surpassing 700 million passengers."
Speaking at the Association of Corporate Travel Executives' annual conference in Rome, Mr Cowley estimated that as airlines begin to unbundle their services, business travellers may find that they have to pay separately for seats, meals and baggage.
Such news could be of interest to those with business travel jobs.
Meanwhile, HRG recently reported that in spite of the current economic downturn business are continuing to travel on corporate matters.
