Business travel 'holding up'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Levels of business travel are holding up despite a downturn in the economic sector, it has been suggested.
According to travel management firm HRG, businesses are "still travelling" in spite of the continued weakening of the financial markets.
In its interim statement it was revealed that like-for-like client revenue is up by three per cent from figures recorded in 2007.
However, HRG did indicate that some firms are looking for cheaper transport alternatives, in news that might be of interest to those seeking jobs in the business travel sector.
The company said: "During the first quarter, trading has generally held up well despite the uncertainty created by the prevailing macroeconomic conditions."
Meanwhile, the business travel firm stated that Hugo Boss, IMG and KPMG were among the clients that it had recently won.
In related news, it was recently revealed that hotel booking firm Expotel has undergone a management buyout, while simultaneously taking over travel management company NIS Europe.
