Business travel buyers 'face data collection challenges'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Travel buyers encounter difficulties when attempting to collate information for a variety of sources, a new study shows.
Research conducted by BCD Travel it was revealed that those with such business travel jobs believe managing data is the largest challenge they face.
Achieving travel policy compliance and managing rising travel costs were also indicated by the travel management company as being challenges they are being presented with in the workplace.
Leslie West, senior vice-president for client data solutions at BCD Travel, said: "The use of travel data takes on new business purposes throughout the lifecycle of a travel reservation."
He highlighted that the information associated with airline reservation changes from a measure for policy compliance to a measure for programme management, in addition to monitoring risk.
Last month Denise Leleux, director of commercial cards for Barclaycard Business, claimed the future of business travel is "inextricably linked to the advancement of technology".
Her comments came after the firm revealed an increasing number of corporate travellers will look to make use of technology in-flight.
