2012 Olympics 'brings business tourism benefits'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.London's hosting of the 2012 Olympic Games is proving to be of benefit to those in the business travel sector, it has been reported.
Ahead of the games, VisitLondon has announced that it is to unveil a number of new initiatives aimed at improving facilities for international associations and conference planners.
Barbara Jamison, European sales manager for VisitLondon, said: "Even though there is a four-year wait, London's business tourism industry is already seeing some major benefits."
Ms Jamison went on to report that numerous hotel, transport and venue officials are now "working together to create a more joined up and consistent approach to delivery".
Such news could be of interest to those with business travel jobs.
It was also reported that a number of business conference venues, such as ExCeL London, will host various Olympic and Paralympic events.
VisitLondon also revealed that it is to work with a selection of partners to offer businesses group discounts on rail and air travel.
Meanwhile, VisitLondon chief executive James Bidwell recently reported that the success of UK athletes at the recent Beijing games could help to drive domestic tourism.
