'Blurring' between corporate and leisure travel
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.There is a 'blurring of the lines' between business and leisure travel, it has been reported.
In research carried out by Egencia, it was revealed that some 40 per cent of business travellers attempt to combine going away for corporate purposes with their personal interests, as they look to explore a new destination as much as possible.
Jean-Pierre Remy, president for Egencia, reported that the modern corporate traveller has an increasing number of demands which are placed upon them.
He said: "As a result, the lines between business and leisure travel are blurring as business travellers are driven by balancing personal and professional needs."
In addition it was revealed that a quarter of such travellers carry a laptop with Wi-Fi capabilities and a BlackBerry with them, in news that might be of interest to those with business travel jobs.
Meanwhile in a recent piece of research by Barclaycard it was shown that business travellers are increasingly concerned about safety at train stations.
