Flybe 'to expand Isle of Man flights'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Flybe is set to expand its routes in the Isle of Man, it has been revealed.
Moves by the firm have seen offer extra return flights from Manchester airport on May 24th and June 7th as the island prepares for its TT motorcycle racing event.
In addition it is to increase the frequency of journeys from Liverpool's John Lennon airport, while it also looks to start new services from Newquay and Jersey on May 24th.
Exeter, Glasgow and Edinburgh were revealed to be among destinations Flybe may also begin to offer flights from, Travel Trade Gazette reports.
Such news might be of potential interest to those seeking jobs in the travel industry, particularly within the aviation sector.
Mike Rutter, chief commercial officer for Flybe, said: "What it shows is that in these times of high fuel prices we need people who have a proper business model and understand how to make money.
"It also shows that island communities such as the Isle of Man need businesses as robust as Flybe."
The announcement comes following the collapse of rival operator Euromanx last week.
It was recently revealed that Crystal Holidays is to operate flights from Leeds/Bradford and East Midlands airports to the Italian city of Verona.
