Online travel agency launches
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.This week has seen the launch of an online travel agency, it has been revealed.
Monstertravel.co.uk, created by former Hays Travel executive David Hawke and based in Newcastle, has started trading and includes a fully operating website and call centre.
Mr Hawke, who was also head of direct sales at Thomson, said: "The travel market has changed over the last two years with large tour operators keen to work with quality agent partners again."
He also pointed out that technological advancements now mean that travel agents can help their customers to manage the various components of going away individually, Travolution reports.
Such an announcement could well be of interest to those people who are seeking jobs in the travel agent industry.
The firm is currently marketing through television channels and online advertising, with an offline push set to take place later this year.
In recent days Kayte Williams, holidays manager at Travelsupermarket.com, stated that travel agents are still being sought out by those holidaymakers requiring an "extra level of support" as they organise the various elements to their vacation separately.
