Consumers 'still use travel agents when booking holidays'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Although many Britons choose to book their holidays over the internet, a significant proportion of people still like to use a travel agent, it has been suggested.
Citing research carried out by Which? Holiday, Kate Shipp, researcher for the consumer publication, reported that some consumers prefer a personal connection with a travel agent when organising a vacation.
She said: "In this particular research, a fifth of the respondents didn't book any of these products online.
"This wasn't due to security fears, but that they just prefer to deal with people face-to-face."
Ms Shipp reported that some people are not very comfortable with using technology and as such people who do not have a great deal of experience in going online might not be confident in booking a holiday over the internet.
Earlier this week, it was reported that travel agents and tour operators are being increasingly sought-after in the run-up to the Champions League Final which takes place in Moscow later this month between Manchester United and Chelsea.
