Travel agents 'in demand ahead of football final'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs.Those working for travel agents are finding themselves in increasing levels of demand as the Champions League final approaches, it has been revealed.
With the match between Chelsea and Manchester United set to take place later this month, a number of tour operators are discovering they are swamped with requests for accommodation, flights and rail travel to Moscow, TravelWeekly reports.
Bill Watkins, director of specialist travel agency Real Russia, pointed out that although hotels in the Russian capital are "horribly expensive", football fans are prepared to spend money to get behind their teams.
Meanwhile, Thomas Cook, the official travel agent for Chelsea has sold out on all of its day flights.
Such news might be of interest to people seeking jobs in the travel sector.
Mark Donovan, who runs MG Donovan Travel and Promotions, added: "We've operated European trips for Manchester United for 18 years but never seen a level of interest like this."
Earlier this year, Taylor Nelson Sofres revealed a fifth of people visit a travel agents when planning a break.
