Tourists 'either looking for self-catering or all-inclusive breaks'
Travel industry news brought to you by C & M Recruitment, specialists in business travel jobs. The continued difficulties in the financial markets are causing more holidaymakers to either opt for all-inclusive breaks or self-catering holidays, it has been suggested.
Paul Riches, sales and marketing director at Youtravel.com, claimed: "As financial fears continue, people either want to have the most inclusive holiday possible, or to strip everything out completely."
Those choosing a self-catering holiday, it was stated, will be able to have total control over their eating options meaning that they do not waste food, TravelWeekly reports.
Meanwhile, tourists on an all-inclusive trip have already a set price for their break and "can use this as a budgeting tool for the rest of the holiday".
Between March and April, the firm saw bookings for self-catering properties up by 105 per cent in comparison to September and October 2007.
Meanwhile, all-inclusive hotel bookings were up by 70 per cent during the same period of time.
Such news might be of interest to those with jobs in the travel industry.
Recently Cheapflights.co.uk stated that rising numbers of tourists are travelling to destinations outside of the eurozone as the value of the pound depreciates against the European currency.
