Travel ConsultantA Travel Consultant, also known as Travel Agent provide a full range of travel booking services including inclusive tours and package holidays, independent and tailor-made holidays, flights, car hire, hotels and any other ancillary products required for customer whether it be customer facing in a retail store or in a reservations environment over the telephone for large travel companies as well as smaller independent travel companies. You will generally be required to have knowledge of Viewdata or a CRS. You must be able to meet and exceed given sales targets. Junior Travel Consultant or a Trainee Travel Consultant is a route into the travel industry if you have recently completed a travel qualification. You will be trained in all areas of booking travel products and trained into the role of Travel Consultant or Travel Agent. You must have excellent demonstration of customer service skills and an excellent telephone manner. Qualifications generally accepted include BTEC Travel and Tourism Diploma, and other travel qualifications. Worldwide Consultant is a worldwide travel specialist, providing round-the-world airfares, tailor made holidays and flight only. You will need to be an experienced travel consultant or reservations agent with a good working knowledge of a CRS (Worldspan, Sabre, Amadeus or Galileo) and well travelled with excellent product knowledge. Rail Consultant will book and issuing domestic and European rail tickets. This includes making amendments, cancellations and special requests. Typically a Rail Consultant will need to be able to use a rail reservations system i.e. Elgar, Evolvi or Trainline and have exceptional UK Rail destination knowledge. Senior Travel Consultant and Travel Team Leaders are experienced Travel Consultants with a wealth of knowledge in the travel industry, using a CRS and nett and published fares. They will aid the Manager in the day-to-day running of the Consultants and help coach more junior staff into the role.
