Finance/AccountsThere are a range of finance and accounting opportunities for experienced professionals within the travel industry. The Finance Director is the key decision maker and head of the department who works closely with the Finance Controller, and other department heads, the Managing Director and often board members. Finance Controllers are found in larger organisations and oversee the smooth running of the accounts department. Purchase Ledger clerks handle all incoming invoices ensuring payments are made on time, and reconcile statements from suppliers, make payments within terms, and deal with all incoming calls. The Sales Ledger clerk handles all outgoing company invoices, as well as handling credit control. An Accounts Assistant is the general assistant within the department assisting with sales & purchase ledgers. The Overseas Account Assistant is responsible for payments for all overseas hoteliers and suppliers. BSP (bank settlement plan) Manager ensures the smooth and timely payments of all airline ticket sales.
