There has been a 27% year-on-year increase in visitors attending a leading trade show in London dedicated to business travel.

More than 6,300 people attended the Business Travel Show at London's Earls Court between February 7 and 8, including around 800 buyers representing top international companies such as Nike, Sony, Jaguar Land Rover and Kellogg's.

Further evidence of the show's increasing popularity was demonstrated by a 47% rise in exhibitors, from 134 to 197. Figures also showed a positive outlook for 2013, with nearly two-thirds of floorspace already booked for the next event.

Event director David Chapple said: "2012 has been the busiest and best Business Travel Show in years. Buyers and suppliers are both thrilled with the success of the hosted buyer programme.

"After such a strong start, we're already looking forward to growing the number of hosted and executive buyers undertaking pre-scheduled meetings and appointments significantly for 2013."
