Virgin Holidays opens London store

As the freezing winter weather starts to bite, Virgin Holidays is looking to tempt London shoppers into thinking about their next summer break.

The travel chain has opened its first standalone shop on Kensington High Street in the capital, which will provide a travel jobs boost for the area just in time for Christmas.

The 'holiday emporium' features a number of new concepts, such as iPads for customers to casually flick through brochures.

Virgin Holidays has a total of 100 concession outlets and a number of pop-up shops across the UK, but this is the first time it has set up a permanent standalone outlet.

The store will showcase deals with Virgin Holidays, Virgin Holidays+HIP Hotels and Virgin Holidays Cruises as well as having video walls and the latest technology.

Virgin Holidays managing director Amanda Wills said: "Our concession outlets have been very successful and the experiments we've conducted with pop-up standalone shops this year meant it was a natural evolution to do something more permanent.

"We're delighted to be able to be a part of the pre-Christmas buzz along this famous high street."
