Travel Hall of Fame gets new chairman

The British Travel and Hospitality Industry's Hall of Fame has appointed a new chairman in what will be among the year's most unique industry appointments.

Carnival UK chief executive David Dingle has been named as the new chairman after spending nearly a decade as a Hall of Fame member.

In the past 17 years, some 80 figures in senior travel jobs have been inducted into the hall. The new chairman will be honoured with a dinner at the Savoy in April.

Dingle said: "I am both delighted and honoured to have been asked to be the new chairman of the Hall of Fame and I look forward to continuing the good work that has been achieved over the years.

"The Hall of Fame is a very important part of the travel and hospitality sector, with many outstanding members, all of whom have made a significant contribution to the travel and tourism sector. It is a wonderful event and I am very proud to be a part of it."
