Travel Brit Awards date announced

The fifth Travel Brit Awards are to take place on June 24 at Warner Leisure Hotels' Thoresby Hall Hotel in Nottinghamshire, it has been confirmed.

The event, which honours agents in travel jobs selling holidays on home soil, will begin in the afternoon when those attending will have the chance to learn more about the domestic tourism industry.

Guests are then invited to attend a dinner, which will be followed by the awards ceremony. The evening will carry a red, white and blue dress code in celebration of all things British.

Abta, Bourne Leisure, Shearings Holidays, Visit England, Preston Holidays, Great Rail Journeys, Hoseasons Group and Superbreak are among the main sponsors of this year's awards.

Abta' UK tourism and leisure committee chairman Caroline Brown said: "With the Diamond Jubilee in June and the Olympics and Paralympics in the summer, 2012 is set to be a special year for the UK."
