P&O doubles winter cruise programme

P&O Cruises
P&O Cruises has announced plans to operate two ships from Southampton next winter.

The cruise operator revealed that the Oriana would be sailing from the port, along with the Oceana which returns for its second winter.

A number of different itineraries will be available to holidaymakers, ranging from two-night cruises to voyages lasting 35 nights.

There will be seven different cruises available on the Oriana, including a 10-night December cruise in the Baltic and a Canary Islands cruise lasting 12 nights at the end of January.

The Oceana will also offer its first short cruises covering Christmas and New Year.

Carol Marlow, managing director of P&O Cruises, said the group would offer a choice of 39 round-trip cruises from Southampton between October and April.

She added: "A growing number of people are keen to holiday in the winter, but don't necessarily want to fly, so this additional range of cruises from Southampton will increase their options still further."
