New Virgin cabin to target business travel

New Virgin cabin to target business travel

Virgin Atlantic has announced that it will look to boost its number of passengers on business travel  from Heathrow with a new upper-class cabin.

The firm has described the new seat and cabin as "cutting edge", saying that it will create a wow factor for business travellers.

Virgin has invested £100 million into the plans, but industry figures keen to get a closer look will have to wait until it's unveiled in the spring.

The airline  said the cabin is to be used on the daily morning service from Heathrow to New York.

Once the new cabin is bedded in on the Airbus A330 a three-year roll-out will be launched throughout the airline's fleet at Heathrow.

Chief operating officer Steve Griffiths said: "This is not just about the seat. It involves new product, new in-flight entertainment and investment in the service. It will absolutely make Virgin Atlantic the best in class.

"There are elements of this investment we believe business passengers, in particular, will appreciate."

Business travellers flying in the new cabin will enjoy an improved seat alongside express service times and other features.
