Monarch in search for next CEO

Monarch in search for next CEO

The Monarch group has said its search for a replacement chief executive is 'well under way' following the resignation of Conrad Clifford.

Mr Clifford had been in charge of Monarch for slightly over a year, and will be temporarily replaced by executive chairman, Iain Rawlinson.

Responsible to the chief executive are the managing directors of Monarch Airlines, Monarch Aircraft Engineering Limited and the Monarch Travel Group companies, such as Cosmos.

Mr Clifford's other industry appointments  have been as UK vice-president of the Emirates as well as working for Virgin Atlantic and Cathay Pacific. He joined Monarch in December 2010.

Mr Rawlinson, temporary chief executive, said: "We are already engaged in the process of finding a replacement, with a strong focus on the airline growth plan, and unlocking the full benefits of Monarch being a unified travel group."

Mr Rawlinson also said he would like to thank Mr Clifford on behalf of the company's shareholders.
