Michelin chef cooks up airline job

A Michelin star chef has cooked up one of the more unusual travel jobs  out there - creating a signature menu for Hong Kong Airlines' business-class flights.

Jason Atherton, who has also completed a stint at the renowned el Bulli restaurant in Spain in the past, will be launching his in-flight cuisine for those on business travel  from March 8.

Club Classic and Club Premier passengers travelling to Hong Kong from Gatwick will be able to tuck into food inspired by China, Europe and beyond, with Chinese teas and a wine list to finish.

Atherton said: "The opportunity to work with a dynamic airline brand for an exciting new launch in this way is incredible. I'm looking forward to showcasing my concept for Hong Kong Airlines to give customers a truly memorable experience."

The chef has worked under famous names including Gordon Ramsay, Pierre Koffmann and Marco Pierre White. He has a Michelin star for his London restaurant, Pollen Street Social.
