New chief for London City Airport

New chief for London City Airport

London City Airport (LCY) CEO Richard Gooding will be succeeded by Dublin Airport Authority chief Declan Collier when he steps down next year.

Mr Gooding will keep a place on the board of LCY as a non-executive director when he passes on the baton to Mr Collier in the early part of 2012.

LCY chairman Roy Griffins paid tribute to Mr Gooding, saying his "outstandingly successful" 15-year tenure as CEO had resulted in a four-fold increase in traffic to more than three million passengers a year.

Mr Griffins said he was "delighted" the travel recruitment process had led to Mr Collier being appointed as CEO, adding: "Declan has led DAA through a transformational period in terms of its infrastructure and business culture.

"He is a respected voice within the aviation industry through his involvement with Airports Council International, where he is currently president, ACI Europe."
