Getabed hire former Thomas Cook chief

Independent operator Getabed has taken on former Thomas Cook sales chief Tony Quinn as commercial director.

Quinn spent 22 years at Thomas Cook working across various roles including senior sales positions and development roles. In 2002 he set up Avista Travel which has now developed into a number of niche brands such as bridesandbeaches.com and holidays2mauritius.co.uk. 

Quinn said: "Avista Travel is now well-established and in the capable hands of a strong management team for its day-to-day running, so I started to look for my next challenge."

The bed bank's managing director Matt Stuart said: "We are delighted to have Tony onboard. His broad experience across the UK travel industry will be an invaluable asset to the Getabed.co.uk team.
