Etihad Manchester staff graduate

A global call centre has moved a step closer to its 2012 opening in Manchester after 25 new staff members completed a four-week training course at the Etihad's headquarters in Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Airways call centre is set to be operational at the start of next year and will create hundreds more jobs in the north of England. In preparation for the opening three team leaders, 21 agents and a quality executive graduated from the training scheme this week.

The new recruits are now fully prepared for the airline's new UK office call centre.

Ray Gammell, Etihad's chief people and performance officer, said: "Etihad's fourth global call centre in Manchester is due to be operational by the start of 2012, creating 160 jobs for the local community. We are delighted not only by the progress these graduates have made during their time in Abu Dhabi, but also by the high standards they have set,.

"We are continuing to recruit in Manchester and the surrounding area for call centre staff members."
