EasyJet in corporate clients drive

EasyJet in corporate clients drive

The chief executive of easyJet has said the no-frills airline  is seeking to attract "high-yielding" business customers after it signed deals with two major travel management companies.

The company recently signed agreements with FCm and American Express in a bid to attract more business travel  passengers.

But CEO Carolyn McCall said the airline would not offer "volume-based" incentives to the companies.

She told the Guild of Travel Management Companies ' AGM: "We will not do incentives based on just volumes.

"We're not interested in doing that because we do not need lots more passengers as our load factors are already at 87%.

"What we need are high-yielding passengers.

"This is very different to how TMCs work with traditional airlines which offer incentives on volume because they have much lower load factors."

Business travellers currently make up 18% of easyJet's passenger base. The airline wants to increase this figure to 22-23% in the years to 2017.
