Co-op Travel launches ad campaign

The Co-operative Travel has launched a TV and radio campaign and a number of promotional offers in an attempt to drum up business in 2012.

The adverts, which are set in a Co-operative Travel high street store, show people working in travel jobs in the company's high street stores providing expert, detailed advice to make sure holidaymakers get the break they want. Its radio advert campaign will begin on January 9.

Customers will receive discount vouchers for Co-operative food stores if they book holidays in January, while the company is offering people the chance to win a dream holiday to Atlantis, The Palm resort in Dubai, or a Nile cruise to encourage people to visit their high street stores during the month.

The Co-operative Travel is offering discounts of up to £400 on selected holidays, low deposits and free child places in order to boost business, while it is also echoing partner Thomas Cook's vow to offer the lowest prices on the high street.

Simon Robinson, Co-operative Travel and Thomas Cook's joint venture chief executive, said: "Using our expertise and in-depth knowledge of destinations we offer, travellers can rest assured that our specialists will help them to plan their trip of a lifetime - with the value they're looking for."

The retailer has predicted that Turkey, France, Spain, Cyprus and Florida will be the most popular holiday destinations of the summer.
