Capita pens Santander travel deal

Santander has hired a travel management company to take care of its business travel needs in the UK.

The deal with Capita Business Travel will see the banking group enjoying reduced fee costs, therefore slashing its travel expenditure.

Santander's search for a business travel provider began earlier in the year and executives favoured Capita's bid, deeming it to offer the best deal of those companies who had launched a bid for tender.

The specialist service is powered by BSI, Evolvi and Amadeus, UK.

Some 70% of Santander's businesss travel bookings are now made through this service, which it adopted about a month ago.

Matt Selby, Capita Business Travel's director of sales and marketing services, said: "Integrating specialist services allows us to offer a unique value proposition to align with travel managers' procurement agenda.

"Organisations with a sophisticated understanding of their requirements are now able to gain from accountable and sustainable savings opportunities, delivered by specialists.

"We are thrilled to be able to provide Santander with this seamless service, account management and innovative reservation and online technologies, controlled and managed under a single contract."
