Anantara Hotels appoints Middle East boss

Anantara Hotels appoints Middle East boss

Michel Koopman has been chosen to lead the Middle East division of Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spas.

In his new role as director of operations, Mr Koopman will assume responsibility for running Anantara's UAE-based hotels and resorts, including Al Yamm Lodge and Al Sahel Lodge - which are both due to open on Sir Bani Yas island this year.

He has also been appointed general manager of Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa, which will be Anantara's first city-based hotel in the Middle East when it opens later this year.

People looking for travel jobs could be alerted to Anantara as it presses ahead with so many new openings this year.

Mr Koopman joined the firm after spending four years as regional general manager at InterContinental Hotels Group.

During his time with the group he oversaw a number of openings across China, including the Holiday Inn Express Zhabei.
