The descent
(Or how to draw the interview to a close)
As the interview draws to a close, the interviewer will give you the opportunity to ask questions. It's a good idea to have some questions already prepared and will demonstrate your initiative and forward-thinking.
Here are some of the questions you may wish to ask:
- Do they have any expansion plans and is so what are they?
- What is the working culture/environment like?
- What are the company's long and short-term goals?
- Is there any training provided?
- What would be expected of me in the first 6 months?
- Who would I report in to?
- If I am offered the job, when would you like me to start?
- When will C&M receive your feedback?
The perfect landing
- Finish the interview on a positive note. Let the interviewer know that you are interested in the position. Of course we'll follow up with a call to the client, but there's nothing like hearing it from the enthusiastic candidate themselves.
- Keep us in the loop. As soon as you leave the interview, please get straight in touch with your C&M Recruitment Consultant and give them your feedback. We can the get back to the client as soon as possible and be able to advise you of the next steps.
HOT TIP!
Don't forget, an interview is a two way street: for them to find out about you and for you to find out about them!
Welcome aboard!
All the preparation in the world will not guarantee you the job, but it will give you the advantage over a candidate who hasn't prepared. We have put together the following checklist to help you ensure that you have all the correct details you require prior to your interview. And, if there's anything else you need to know, please don't hesitate to get in touch with your C&M Consultant.
